All three are recognised incubation-related problems:

• Early embryonic death: Embryo dies in the first few days — caused by too high or too low temperature, poor quality hatching eggs, or disease in parent flock. Detected by blood ring on candling at 7th day.
• Piped egg (Pipped): Chick has cracked (pipped) the shell but cannot complete hatching — caused by low humidity/moisture in the hatcher, preventing the chick from rotating and breaking free.
• Dead-in-shell: Embryo fully develops but dies just before hatching — caused by poor ventilation, faulty turning, or nutritional deficiencies. Detected by 2nd candling on 18th day.
